The Lynwood Fire Department and Police Department will respond to your call for an ambulance, but they do not provide transportation to the hospital. The Village has contracted with Bud's Ambulance to provide transportation.
When I dial 911 to report a structure fire, why does more than one department respond, and sometimes arrive before Lynwood?
The Lynwood Fire Department has in place auto-aid agreements with Thornton, Glenwood and Lansing Fire Departments. If there is a report of a structure fire, three departments, or more, are automatically sent to the scene. If another department arrives before Lynwood, it may be due to: Lynwood is already on another call, the other departments station may be closer, or it may be during a time where Lynwood is not staffing their station, but the other town is. The Lynwood Fire Department is always on call to serve you, but the station itself is not manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This is not uncommon for departments to do so.
