Message from Chief Public Safety Fire Administrator LaShaun Alston

On behalf of our entire staff, I welcome you to Lynwood Fire Department’s website. We take pride in our jobs and work hard to deliver exceptional service to our community. We are committed to giving our community the highest level of service in the utmost professional manner. Through these efforts, we constantly strive to the Village of Lynwood a safer place to live, work, visit and raise families.

The Lynwood Fire Department provides emergency services to more than 9,100 residents approximately 6 square miles within the Village of Lynwood and unincorporated areas covered by the Lynwood Fire Department. We also provide mutual aid services for several of our surrounding communities. The Lynwood Fire Department is a member of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (M.A.B.A.S) Division 24.

The mission of Lynwood Fire Department is to provide the citizens of Lynwood with fast, modern, effective, and professional fire, rescue, and medical services through the use of trained personnel and quality equipment. We continually strive to prevent the loss of life, personal injury and property damage through public education and emergency responsiveness. We will render our services with pride and personal commitment to the individuals in need of aid.

The Lynwood Fire Department is made up of about 25 employees at 1 station answering over 1,653 calls for service in 2023.
