General Information

Below is some general information you should know about the Public Works Department.

The Public Works Department / Water Department's regular office hours at the Municipal Complex are from 8:00 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Public Works regular shop hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Public Works Department does however respond to 24-hour emergencies if the situation requires it. Emergencies can be called into the Police Department during off hours by calling 708-758-4744.

Garbage Service Reminder - The 6 Holiday listed below are the only Holidays that Homewood Disposal has off and therefore the only weeks that would effect your garbage service. All other Holiday will not effect garbage pick up service. New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.

Clean Up Week - The Village offers a clean up week yearly during the month of May. The Public Works Department makes one trip down each block to remove debris. A flyer with further information will be provided in April of May of each year explaining the restrictions and rules for particiapating.
