Village of Lynwood Illinois Fire Department

The Lynwood Fire Department Dive Team was started in 1997 and is headed by Chief Rich Eriks. The team consists of fire & police personnel. Currently the team has 10 members. The team responds to any water related emergencies from rescues to evidence recoveries. The team has equipment to answer any emergency. We have lift bags for lifting heavy objects and special underwater cameras that see better than human eye. The team currently trains every month with the 3rd District teams. Trainings are open to the public to come out and watch and ask questions. For the team's training schedule, call the fire department for dates & times. The teams most recent call-out was for an evidence recovery for a gun used in a homicide. The evidence was recovered after about 4 hours of dive time.
